New Rottnest Island Tours this Summer

New Rottnest Island Tours this Summer

Is there a better way to spend a warm summer’s day? Anchored in the crystal clear waters of one of Rottnest Island’s many protected bays, a BBQ lunch sizzles away on the back deck and lounging on the comfortable netting at the front of the boat, you watch as a huge stingray swims right under the boat beneath you.

If you are a Perth local and you’ve been to Rottnest Island, no doubt you have said to yourself “Why don’t I come here more often?” If you’re a visitor, the island is truly one of the best things to do in Perth.

Less than 20 km off the coast of Perth, Rottnest is Perth’s very own island paradise. The crystal clear waters can be up to four degrees warmer than the beaches in Perth, thanks to the Leeuwin Current that encapsulates the island. The warm water is home to another 12species of tropical fish that are not found near the mainland.

On land you will find many happy little quokkas, made world-famous by selfies with celebrities like Roger FedererMargot Robbie and most recently Shawn Mendes. You cannot bring your car across to the island so most people see the island by bus or bicycles. In our opinion, to see the very best of what Rottnest Island has to offer you need to get around by boat.

Starting November 2019 we are excited to offer visitors to Rottnest Island new sunset sail tours and standby private charters aboard our lovely yellow catamaran Capella. Our usual Private Rottnest Charters from Fremantle remain unchanged, in addition to these new tour options.

Standby private charters are $475/hr allowing you up to 24 people onboard – the perfect option for families travelling together and group sizes of 10 or more. You get to choose your own destination and duration! Plus, pay for 6 hours and you get 2 free!  We’ll pick you up from Thompson Bay at your preferred time (*must be 8am for 8hr charters) and take you to the very best snorkel spots in Rottnest, often accessible by only shallow hulled boats like Capella.  Keep an eye out for stingrays, starfish, colourful corals and all kinds of tropical fish. If you can’t wait to get in the water, jump on our HUGE new drag net as we set sail to our next snorkelling destination.

Or for something different in the evening jump on our Twilight Sails which run Monday to Thursday by demand. Tickets can bought online for $95/adult and $60/child. Book direct for our best price guarantee. Family prices are also available ($295 for 2A and 2C). Relax on our roomy bows, sipping your complimentary glass of bubbles while we hoist the sails and make our way along the stunning Rottnest Island beaches. Watch the sun melt into the Indian Ocean behind Bathurst Lighthouse, picture perfect!

Earlier this year we had Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon and their families onboard for a private Rottnest charter, showing them the very best of what the island has to offer. On the water and underwater, there are so many activities at Rottnest Island, let us help you create your own Rottnest adventure.
